BrTrHearken, I pray you, and hear: will they not speak thus, There is no man that repents of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? the runner has failed from his course, as a tired horse in his neighing.

ULTI paid attention and listened, they did not speak right. There was not a man sorry because of his wickedness, saying,
⇔ “What have I done?” All of them turn in their running,
⇔ like a stallion plunging into battle.

USTI have listened carefully to what they say, but they do not say what they should say. Not one of them is sorry for having sinned.
 ⇔ No one says, “I have done wicked things.” They are sinning and doing what they want to;
⇔ Charging into sinful behavior with the excitement of a horse that is running into a battle.

BSBI have listened and heard;
⇔ they do not speak what is right.
⇔ No one repents of his wickedness,
⇔ asking, ‘What have I done?’
⇔ Everyone has pursued his own course
⇔ like a horse charging into battle.

OEBI have listened with ear intent–
⇔ And their words are utterly false.
⇔ Not a man repents of his wickedness
⇔ Or thinks upon what he has done:
⇔ But each rushes on in his course
 ⇔ As a war-horse rushes in battle.

WEBBEI listened and heard, but they didn’t say what is right.
⇔ No one repents of his wickedness, saying, “What have I done?”
⇔ Everyone turns to his course,
⇔ as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle.

WMBB (Same as above)

NETI have listened to them very carefully,
⇔ but they do not speak honestly.
⇔ None of them regrets the evil he has done.
⇔ None of them says, “I have done wrong!”
⇔ All of them persist in their own wayward course
⇔ like a horse charging recklessly into battle.

LSVI have given attention, indeed, I listen,
They do not speak right,
No man has sighed over his wickedness,
Saying, What have I done? Everyone has turned to his courses,
As a horse is rushing into battle.

FBVI've heard exactly what they said, but they don't tell the truth. No one is sorry for doing wrong, asking, “What have I done?” Everyone chooses their own way, like a horse charging into battle.

T4TI have listened carefully [DOU] to what they say,
⇔ but they do not say what they should say.
⇔ Not one of them is sorry for having sinned.
⇔ No one says, “I have done [RHQ] wicked things.”
⇔ They are sinning and doing what they want to
⇔ as fast as [SIM] a horse that is running into a battle.

LEB•  and I have listened. •  They do not speak honestly, •  there is no man who regrets his wickedness, saying, ‘What have I done?’ •  All of them are turning to their ways of running, •  like a horse plunging into battle.

BBEI took note and gave ear, but no one said what is right: no man had regret for his evil-doing, saying, What have I done? everyone goes off on his way like a horse rushing to the fight.

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

8:6 The Lord, who can listen to everything (cp. Luke 12:3), heard the people even when they talked in private. Not a word correlated with reality, and no one was sorry for doing wrong. Like a horse galloping into battle with no thought of death or danger, they did not consider the consequences of their sins.
