BrTrThere is Ælam and all his host round about his tomb: all the slain that fell by the sword, and the uncircumcised that go down to the deep of the earth, who caused their fear to be upon the land of the living: and they have received their punishment with them that go down to the pit,

ULTElam is there with all her multitudes. Her graves surround her; all of them were killed.
⇔ Those who fell by the sword, who have gone down uncircumcised to the lowest parts of the earth,
⇔ who brought their terrors on the land of the living and who carry their own shame, together with the ones going down to the pit.

USTMany, many people from the country of Elam will be there, too, and Elam’s servants, because their enemies will have killed them. These were soldiers who had terrified people in many places. At that time they will lie there in that deep pit below the earth, and they, along with the others who have gone there, will be disgraced.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) Elam is there

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

Here “Elam” refers to the people of that country. Alternate translation: “The people of Elam are also there in Sheol”

(Occurrence 0) her multitudes

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

This could mean: (1) her many people or (2) her army.

(Occurrence 0) Her graves surround her

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

See how you translated this in Ezekiel 32:22.

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

(Occurrence 0) all of them were killed

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

This can be put in active form. Alternate translation: “Her enemies killed them all”

(Occurrence 0) Those who fell by the sword

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

Translate “who fell by the sword” as in Ezekiel 32:23.

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) by the sword

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

Here “the sword” is a metonym for soldiers who use swords to kill people. Alternate translation: “in battle”

(Occurrence 0) who have gone down uncircumcised

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

Alternate translation: “who were uncircumcised when they went down”

(Occurrence 0) to the lowest parts of the earth

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

“to places deep down in the ground” or “to the land deep down in the ground.” See how you translated “in the lowest realms of the earth” in Ezekiel 26:20.

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

(Occurrence 0) who brought their terrors

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea behind the word terrors, you can express the same idea with a verbal form such as “afraid.” See how you translated “brought terror” in Ezekiel 32:23. Alternate translation: “those who, when they were still alive, caused people to be extremely afraid”

Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) the land of the living

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

This represents the people who were alive. See how you translated “the land of the living” in Ezekiel 32:23.

Note 6 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

(Occurrence 0) who carry their own shame

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

Shame is spoken of as if it were an object that one could carry where he goes. Alternate translation: “who feel ashamed” or “who are now disgraced”

Note 7 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) the pit

(Some words not found in UHB: there Elam and=all hordes,her around grave,her all,them slain the,fallen in/on/at/with,sword which/who went_down uncircumcised to/towards earth/land below which/who spread terror,their in=land life(pl) and,bear disgrace,their DOM go_down pit )

“The pit” refers to the grave; because the grave was thought to be the entrance to the world of the dead, the pit also represents that world. See how you translated this in Ezekiel 32:23.
