The pronoun you is plural here because Yahweh is addressing Abraham and all his future offspring, even though they do not yet exist, so use the plural form in your translation if your language marks that distinction. Alternate translation: [which you and all of your future descendants]

Notice that the pronouns your and you are singular here because they refer to Abraham. So use the singular form in your translation if your language marks that distinction. Alternate translation: [your descendants who will live after you:] or [all your descendants:]

It may be clearer or more natural to change the order of some of the clauses in this sentence. Alternate translation: [This is what I require in my covenant with you and your descendants who will live after you, which you all must keep]

Circumcision involves cutting the foreskin off the penis of a boy or man. Translate this clause in a way that does not offend or embarrass people. Some languages may need to be more discreet and say something general like “must cut off the male skin” or “must follow the male skin-cutting custom.” It may be necessary to include a footnote and an explanation in the glossary about this so that people understand what circumcision is, especially in areas where people cut their skin on other parts of the body for other reasons. Alternate translation: [You must cut off the male foreskin of every boy and man who lives among you]
