BSB § And if they will diligently learn the ways of My people and swear by My name, saying, ‘As surely as the LORD lives’—just as they once taught My people to swear by Baal—then they will be established among My people.

OEB And if ever they master the ways of My people,
⇔ To swear by My name, "As Jehovah liveth,"
 ⇔ As they once taught My people to swear by the Baal,
⇔ They shall then be built up in the midst of My people.

WEB It will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As Yahweh lives;’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people.

NET But they must make sure you learn to follow the religious practices of my people. Once they taught my people to swear their oaths using the name of the god Baal. But then, they must swear oaths using my name, saying, “As surely as the Lord lives, I swear.” If they do these things, then they will be included among the people I call my own.

If they learn the ways of My people well,
To swear by My Name, YHWH lives,
As they taught My people to swear by Ba‘al,
Then they have been built up in the midst of My people.

FBV If they will honestly learn the ways of my people and respect me, making their vows to me, just as they once taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will do well among my people.

T4T And if the people of the other nations whose armies have invaded Israel learn the religious customs of my people, and if they learn that I am listening when they solemnly promise that they will do something good, like they taught my people to believe that their god Baal was listening when they made solemn promises, I will cause them to become prosperous, and they also will be my people.

LEB And then,[fn] if they diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘as Yahweh lives,’[fn] even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will live in the midst of my people.

LUT Und soll geschehen, wo sie von meinem Volk lernen werden, daß sie schwören bei meinem Namen: So wahr der HErr lebet, wie sie (zuvor) mein Volk gelehret haben schwören bei Baal, so sollen sie unter meinem Volk erbauet werden.
