OET (OET-RV) But Mosheh pleaded with his God Yahweh and asked, “Yahweh, why are you angry at your people that you have brought out of Egypt with your incredible power and actions?

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion

לָמָ֤ה יְהוָה֙ יֶחֱרֶ֤ה אַפְּךָ֙ בְּעַמֶּ֔ךָ אֲשֶׁ֤ר הוֹצֵ֨אתָ֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם בְּכֹ֥חַ גָּד֖וֹל וּבְיָ֥ד חֲזָקָֽה

to/for,why? YHWH burn anger,your in/on/at/with,people,your which/who brought_out of,land Miʦrayim/(Egypt) in/on/at/with,power big/great and,in/on/at/with,hand mighty

Moses used this question to try to persuade Yahweh not to be so angry with his people. If you would not use a rhetorical question for this purpose in your language, you could translate his words as a statement or an exclamation and communicate the emphasis in another way. Alternate translation: “Yahweh, do not let your nose burn against your people whom you have brought out from the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand.”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

יֶחֱרֶ֤ה אַפְּךָ֙ בְּעַמֶּ֔ךָ

burn anger,your in/on/at/with,people,your

This is an idiom meaning that Yahweh is angry with his people. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent idiom or use plain language. Alternate translation: “are you angry with your people”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / doublet

בְּכֹ֥חַ גָּד֖וֹל וּבְיָ֥ד חֲזָקָֽה

in/on/at/with,power big/great and,in/on/at/with,hand mighty

These two phrases share similar meanings and are combined for emphasis. If doubling in this way would not convey emphasis in your language, you will need to find a way to translate it that does give emphasis. Alternate translation: “using your very strong power”

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

וּבְיָ֥ד חֲזָקָֽה

and,in/on/at/with,hand mighty

Here, hand represents God’s actions or works. See how you translated this in Exodus 6:1. Alternate translation: “and with powerful works”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

32:1-35 At the foot of Mount Sinai, after Moses had been absent for many days, the people felt the need for protection, guidance, and a tangible way to express their worship. God knew this and was eager to meet these needs (chs 25–31). The Israelites, however, tried to meet their needs for themselves. Fellowship with God requires depending on him (see John 15:5; 2 Cor 3:5).
