וַיְנַשֵּׁ֥ק לְכָל אֶחָ֖יו
and,kissed to/from=all/each/any/every brothers,his
See how you translated “kissed … on the cheeks” in Gen 33:4. Alternate translation: “Next Joseph kissed all his brothers on their cheeks” or “Next Joseph greeted all his brothers with a kiss on their cheeks”
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / infostructure
וַיֵּ֣בְךְּ עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם
and,wept upon,them
For some languages it is more natural to put this clause first in this verse and say, “Then as Joseph continued to cry, he kissed all his brothers on the/their cheeks.” Do what is best in your language. Alternate translation: “with tears of joy.”
וְאַ֣חֲרֵי כֵ֔ן דִּבְּר֥וּ אֶחָ֖יו אִתּֽוֹ
and=after so talked brothers,his with=him/it
Previously Joseph’s brothers had been too afraid to speak (verse 3). Now they felt free to start talking to him.
45:1-15 In one of the most dramatic scenes of the book, Joseph revealed his identity to his brothers, bringing the process of reconciling with them to a climax (see also 50:14-21).
OET (OET-LV) And_kissed to/from_all/each/any/every brothers_his and_wept upon_them and_after thus they_spoke brothers_his with_him/it.
OET (OET-RV) Then he kissed all his brothers and cried over them, and after that his brothers talked with him.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
