See how you translated “kissed … on the cheeks” in Genesis [33:4](../33/04.md). Alternate translation: [Next Joseph kissed all his brothers on their cheeks] or [Next Joseph greeted all his brothers with a kiss on their cheeks]

For some languages it is more natural to put this clause first in this verse and say, “Then as Joseph continued to cry, he kissed all his brothers on the/their cheeks.” Alternate translation: [with tears of joy]

Previously Joseph’s brothers had been too afraid to speak ([verse 3](../45/03.md)). Now they felt free to start talking to him.
