Some ancient manuscripts read “to the despiser of life, to the detester of the nation.” The ULT follows that reading. Other ancient manuscripts read “to one despised in life, to one abhorred by the nation.” If a translation of the Bible exists in your region, you may wish to use the reading that it uses.
