TSNTyndale Study Notes:

16:4-5 Paul and Silas faithfully communicated the decisions of the Jerusalem council. The wisdom of the decision was indicated as the churches were strengthened in their faith and grew larger every day (cp. 2:41; 4:4; 5:14; 6:1; 9:31; 21:20).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

αἱ & ἐκκλησίαι ἐστερεοῦντο τῇ πίστει

the & assemblies /were_being/_strengthened ˱in˲_the faith

If your language does not use this passive form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. If you need to say who did the action, it is clear from the context that it was Paul, Silas, and Timothy. Alternate translation: “Paul, Silas, and Timothy were strengthening the churches in the faith”
