TSNTyndale Study Notes:

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

(Occurrence 0) They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance

(Some words not found in UHB: and,cause_~_towalk on,you_all humankind DOM people,my Yisrael and,possess,you and,be to/for=them as,inheritance and=not you_will_do_again again/more to,bereave_~_ofchildren,them )

The people living in the mountains and land of Israel permanently is spoke of as if the people would inherit them. Alternate translation: “They will possess you permanently”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

(Occurrence 0) you will no longer cause their children to die

(Some words not found in UHB: and,cause_~_towalk on,you_all humankind DOM people,my Yisrael and,possess,you and,be to/for=them as,inheritance and=not you_will_do_again again/more to,bereave_~_ofchildren,them )

It is implied that in the past children died because there was not enough food in the land. Now the land would produce enough food.
