For some languages it may be clearer or more natural to change the order of the clauses in this sentence and say, “So Sarah became pregnant, and at the time God had set, she gave birth to a son for Abraham when he was old, just as God had promised him that she would.” Alternate translation: [when God had told him it would happen]
