OET (OET-LV)And_he/it_said Farˊoh to servants_his find like_this a_man whom the_spirit of_god in/on/over_him/it.

OET (OET-RV) so he asked them, “Do we have any other man like this who has God’s spirit in him?”

uW Translation Notes:

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר פַּרְעֹ֖ה אֶל עֲבָדָ֑יו

and=he/it_said Farˊoh to/towards servants,his

Alternate translation: “So Pharaoh said to his officials,”

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion

הֲנִמְצָ֣א כָזֶ֔ה אִ֕ישׁ

?,find like,this (a)_man

Pharaoh uses a rhetorical question here to emphasize that no one is more qualified than Joseph. Consider whether it is better in your language to translate this quote using a question or a statement. Alternate translation: “It is obvious that we will never find a man as qualified as Joseph,”

אֲשֶׁ֛ר ר֥וּחַ אֱלֹהִ֖ים בּֽוֹ

which/who spirit ʼₑlhīmv in/on/over=him/it

The Hebrew text is ambiguous here. It could mean: (1) “who has God’s Spirit in him” or “whom God’s Spirit guides” or (2) “who has a divine spirit in him” or “who has a spirit of the gods in him”. Most translations follow the first interpretation, since Joseph had just talked to Pharaoh about God (verses 16, 28, 32) and Pharaoh acknowledges God in verse 39.

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

41:1-46 God had used two dreams to identify Joseph as a leader among his brothers (37:5-11). He used two dreams to test Joseph’s faith in prison (40:5-14). Now he would use two dreams to elevate Joseph from prison to preeminence. Joseph had repeatedly proven faithful in small matters; now he would be put in charge of great things.
