The words Judas and Barsabbas are the names of men. Barsabbas was another name by which Judas was known. Barsabbas is probably a patronymic, that is, an indication of who his father was. If your language and culture identify people by patronymics, it may be helpful to translate this name as “the son of Sabbas,” as UST does.
