Here Isaiah is speaking of Yahweh’s righteousness and salvation as if they were a breastplate and a helmet that he put on like a warrior preparing for battle. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [And his righteous acts protected him like a breastplate, and his power to save protected him like a helmet on his head]

Here Isaiah is speaking of Yahweh’s vengeance and zeal as if they were garments and a robe that he wore as clothing. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [And he was determined to take vengeance, and he was intensely zealous]
