ULT Then she conceived again and bore a son, and she said, “This time now my husband will be joined to me, because I have born three sons for him.” For that reason he called his name Levi.

UST Then Leah became pregnant yet again and gave birth to another son, and she exclaimed, “Now finally my husband will want to be with me because I have given him three sons!” That is why his name was Levi, which means “be with.”

29:34 Levi sounds like the Hebrew for being attached to or feeling affection for.

For some languages it is more natural to put this clause first in this quote and say, “I have born/had three sons for my husband, so now finally he will become attached to me.” Do what is best in your language. Alternate translation: “because I have had three sons for him.”

עַל כֵּ֥ן

on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in yes/correct/thus/so

Alternate translation: “Because she had said that,”

קָרָֽא שְׁמ֖⁠וֹ

he/it_called his/its=name

Although this phrase could mean that Jacob named Levi, most translations translate this in a general or indefinite way that does not specify who named him. Do what is best in your language. Alternate translation: “he was named”
