33.29 Quis similis tui, popule? Quasi, ideo beatus, ideo tibi similis nullus, quia non de tua virtute, sed de Christi gratia salutem speras, qui salvum facit populum suum a peccatis eorum. Et gladius gloriæ. In futuro adversarios irrevocabili severitate percutiens, quando sanguinem servorum ulciscetur. Gladius modo hic in humilitate patientium occultatur, in gloria resurgentium revelabitur, ideo gladius gloriæ Isræl dicitur. Calcabis. Subjiciendo eos Ecclesiæ, quam abominantur et persequuntur. Notandum undecim tantum esse benedictiones. Simeon namque in his benedictionibus non reperitur, in quo Judas ab apostolis excluditur, undecim tantum remanentibus. Inde quoque undecim mansionibus filii Isræl de Horeb pervenerunt ad locum in quo Deuteronomium acceperunt.

33:29 stomp on their backs: Treading on an enemy’s back figuratively meant having complete victory over him. The word backs can also be translated “high places,” meaning the heights of the land and the traditional places of pagan worship—a way of suggesting total physical and spiritual conquest. The Lord promised to lead the way and guaranteed success in the forthcoming conquest (see 11:24-25; Josh 1:3; 14:9; cp. Amos 4:13; Mic 1:3; Hab 3:15).
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / you
Moses speaks to the Israelites as if they were one man, so the words “you” and “your” here are singular.
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion
(Occurrence 0) Who is like you, a people saved by Yahweh … majesty?
(Some words not found in UHB: blessed,you Yisrael who? like,you people saved in/on/at/with,LORD shield help,your and=which sword triumph,your and,cringe enemies,your to/for=you(fs) and=you(ms) on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in backs,their tread )
If it would be helpful in your language, you could express this question as a statement. It can also be stated in active form. Alternate translation: “There is no other people group like you, a people whom Yahweh has saved … majesty.” (See also: figs-activepassive)
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / merism
(Occurrence 0) the shield … the sword
(Some words not found in UHB: blessed,you Yisrael who? like,you people saved in/on/at/with,LORD shield help,your and=which sword triumph,your and,cringe enemies,your to/for=you(fs) and=you(ms) on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in backs,their tread )
This merism speaks of Yahweh defending the Israelites from their enemies and enabling them to attack their enemies.
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
(Occurrence 0) the shield of your help
(Some words not found in UHB: blessed,you Yisrael who? like,you people saved in/on/at/with,LORD shield help,your and=which sword triumph,your and,cringe enemies,your to/for=you(fs) and=you(ms) on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in backs,their tread )
The word “shield” is a metaphor for Yahweh protecting and defending the Israelites. If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea behind the word help, you can express the same idea with a verbal form. Alternate translation: “the one who protects you and helps you” (See also: figs-abstractnouns)
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
(Occurrence 0) the sword of your majesty
(Some words not found in UHB: blessed,you Yisrael who? like,you people saved in/on/at/with,LORD shield help,your and=which sword triumph,your and,cringe enemies,your to/for=you(fs) and=you(ms) on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in backs,their tread )
The word “sword” is a metaphor for the power to kill with the sword in order to win battles. Alternate translation: “the one who enables you to win battles and so have majesty”
(Occurrence 0) you will trample down their high places
(Some words not found in UHB: blessed,you Yisrael who? like,you people saved in/on/at/with,LORD shield help,your and=which sword triumph,your and,cringe enemies,your to/for=you(fs) and=you(ms) on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in backs,their tread )
This could mean: (1) the Israelites will destroy the places where the other people worship false gods or (2) the Israelites will walk on the backs of their enemies when the Israelites defeat them.
