UTNuW Translation Notes:

(Occurrence 0) Yahweh of hosts … says this

(Some words not found in UHB: for=so/thus/hence thus he/it_had_said YHWH armies/angels god Yisrael behold,I punish to/towards king Babel and=near/to land, his just=as punished to/towards king Assyria )

Jeremiah often uses these words to introduce an important message from Yahweh. See how you translated this in Jeremiah 6:6.

(Occurrence 0) See, I am about to

(Some words not found in UHB: for=so/thus/hence thus he/it_had_said YHWH armies/angels god Yisrael behold,I punish to/towards king Babel and=near/to land, his just=as punished to/towards king Assyria )

The word “See” means to pay special attention to what follows.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) his land

(Some words not found in UHB: for=so/thus/hence thus he/it_had_said YHWH armies/angels god Yisrael behold,I punish to/towards king Babel and=near/to land, his just=as punished to/towards king Assyria )

Here “land” is a metonym for the people who live in the land of Babylon. Alternate translation: “the Babylonian people”
