OET (OET-LV) If will_of_you [are]_sending DOM brother_our with_us we_will_go_down and_buy to/for_yourself(m) food.
OET (OET-RV) We can only go there to buy food for you if you’ll agree to send our youngest brother with us.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / exclusive
אִם יֶשְׁךָ֛ מְשַׁלֵּ֥חַ אֶת אָחִ֖ינוּ אִתָּ֑נוּ
if will_of,you send DOM brother,our with,us
In verses 3-5, the pronouns us and we are exclusive since they do not include Jacob (whom Judah is talking to). Alternate translation: “So if you will permit our youngest brother to go with us,” or “So if you will let our youngest brother go with us,”
נֵרְדָ֕ה
let_us_descend
Alternate translation: “then we can travel to Egypt”
וְנִשְׁבְּרָ֥ה לְךָ֖ אֹֽכֶל
and,buy to/for=yourself(m) food
Alternate translation: “and buy more grain for you and the rest of the family.”
43:1-7 As the famine continued, Jacob’s family needed more grain, but they could not return to Egypt without Benjamin (42:16, 20). Jacob realized that he was in a bind; he needed more food but was loath to lose Benjamin.
OET (OET-LV) If will_of_you [are]_sending DOM brother_our with_us we_will_go_down and_buy to/for_yourself(m) food.
OET (OET-RV) We can only go there to buy food for you if you’ll agree to send our youngest brother with us.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
