TSNTyndale Study Notes:

25:15-38 The Lord is the sovereign king of all the nations, and their rebellion was about to result in judgment.
• to whom I send you: Jeremiah did not physically travel to each nation. The message he delivered from the Lord spread mostly through written material, much of it in the book of Jeremiah, which has been read throughout the world.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

(Occurrence 0) those killed by Yahweh

(Some words not found in UHB: and=they_will_be slain YHWH in_the=day (the)=that from,end the=earth/land and=unto end the=earth/land not mourned and=not gathered and=not buried like,dung on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in face/surface_of the=soil be )

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “those whom Yahweh killed”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / merism

(Occurrence 0) will on that day extend from one end of the earth to the other

(Some words not found in UHB: and=they_will_be slain YHWH in_the=day (the)=that from,end the=earth/land and=unto end the=earth/land not mourned and=not gathered and=not buried like,dung on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in face/surface_of the=soil be )

By mentioning both ends of the earth, this phrase represents everywhere in between those ends. Alternate translation: “will on that day cover the entire earth”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

(Occurrence 0) they will not be mourned, gathered, or buried

(Some words not found in UHB: and=they_will_be slain YHWH in_the=day (the)=that from,end the=earth/land and=unto end the=earth/land not mourned and=not gathered and=not buried like,dung on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in face/surface_of the=soil be )

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “no one will mourn them, gather them, or bury them”

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / simile

(Occurrence 0) They will be like dung on the ground

(Some words not found in UHB: and=they_will_be slain YHWH in_the=day (the)=that from,end the=earth/land and=unto end the=earth/land not mourned and=not gathered and=not buried like,dung on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in face/surface_of the=soil be )

The bodies are compared to dung on the ground to emphasize that they will be disgusting and that no one will bury them. See how you translated a similar phrase in Jeremiah 16:4.
