TSNTyndale Study Notes:

25:15-38 The Lord is the sovereign king of all the nations, and their rebellion was about to result in judgment.
• to whom I send you: Jeremiah did not physically travel to each nation. The message he delivered from the Lord spread mostly through written material, much of it in the book of Jeremiah, which has been read throughout the world.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

(Occurrence 0) everyone with his brother

(Some words not found in UHB: and=DOM all/each/any/every kings_of the,north the,near and,the,far (a)_man to/towards his/its=woman and=DOM all/each/any/every the,kingdoms_of the=earth/land which/who on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in face/surface_of the=soil and,king_of Sheshach drink after,them )

This is an idiom that means every person, one after another. Alternate translation: “one after another”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) all of them had to drink the cup from Yahweh’s hand

(Some words not found in UHB: and=DOM all/each/any/every kings_of the,north the,near and,the,far (a)_man to/towards his/its=woman and=DOM all/each/any/every the,kingdoms_of the=earth/land which/who on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in face/surface_of the=soil and,king_of Sheshach drink after,them )

Here “the cup” is a metonym for the wine that it contains. Alternate translation: “all of these people had to drink the wine from the cup in Yahweh’s hand”
