BrTrAnd the princes were very angry with Jeremias, and smote him, and sent him into the house of Jonathan the scribe: for they had made this a prison.

ULTThen all the men who knew that their wives were burning incense to other gods, and all the women who were in the great assembly, and all the people who were living in Lower and Upper Egypt, answered Jeremiah.

USTThen a large group of the people who had started to live in northern Egypt and southern Egypt, including all the men who knew that their wives had been burning incense to other gods, and all the women who were standing there, said this to me:

Omnes hæretici in Ægypto hujus mundi. Id est, in tenebris erroris constituti, sacrificia non Deo vero, sed dæmonibus offerunt, cum figmenta et prava dogmata ad decipiendos homines et fidem subvertendam scribunt. Ideo venient super eos mala, et erunt in desolationem et in stuporem.


44.15 Responderunt however Yeremiæ, etc. Stulta responsio. Confitentur him loqui in nomine Master, and not/no acquiescunt, but sequuntur pravitatis suæ consilium. Mystice. All_of_them hæretici in Ægypto huyus mundi. That it_is, in darkness erroris constituti, sacrificia not/no Deo indeed/yet, but dæmonibus offerunt, when/with figmenta and prava dogmata to decipiendos homines and faith subvertendam scribunt. Ideo venient over them mala, and erunt in desolationem and in stuporem.
