BrTr And now I say, In three years, of the years of an hireling, the glory of Moab shall be dishonoured with all his great wealth; and he shall be left few in number, and not honoured.
ULT And now, Yahweh speaks, saying, “Within three years, like the years of a hired worker, the glory of Moab will disappear; of all the great multitude, the remnant will be very few, no significance.”
UST But now he says that exactly three years from now, he will destroy all the things that the people of Moab have been proud of. Even though they have a huge number of people in Moab now, only a few people will remain alive, and they will be weak.

FBV But now the Lord speaks again, and says, In three years, just as a contract worker precisely counts years, Moab's glory will turn into something to be laughed at. Despite there being so many Moabites now, soon there will only be a few feeble people left.

16:14 Within three years, counting each day (literally Within three years, as a servant bound by contract would count them; see also 21:16): A man who had sold himself into servitude for a period of time would calculate how much time remained right down to the final day. This verse refers to events that are unknown.
• The glory of Moab will be ended, probably because of the Assyrian conquest of Moab (late 700s BC).
