Isaiah is using will visit with his harsh and great and strong sword as a common expression of the culture to mean “will punish with his severe and mighty judgment.” If this phrase does not have that meaning for your readers, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Isaiah is using the phrase translated as On that day to introduce a new event in the story. Use a word, phrase, or other method in your language that is natural for introducing a new event. See the UST.
