4.21 Usquequo videbo. Vox prophetæ, et per prophetam Dei, dolentis super contritionem populi sui, cujus viscera ad instar hominis lacerantur, Salvator in morte Lazari, et super Jerusalem flevit. Nec dolorem celat silentio, et clangor buccinæ et strepitus præliorum illius turbat affectum, dum mala malis cumulantur, et universa duarum tribuum terra vastatur.
4.21 Usquequo videbo. The_voice prophetæ, and through prophetam of_God, dolentis over contritionem of_the_people sui, cuyus viscera to instar of_man lacerantur, Salvator in morte Lazari, and over Yerusalem flevit. Nec dolorem celat silentio, and clangor buccinæ and strepitus præliorum illius turbat affectum, dum mala malis cumulantur, and universa duarum tribuum earth/land vastatur.
4:19-21 When Jeremiah heard . . . trumpets and the battle cries of the invaders who brought desolation, he realized that his own family and other people he knew were being killed or left homeless. Jeremiah could not escape the effects of God’s judgment even though he was faithfully serving the Lord (9:1, 19; 10:19-20; 20:9; 2 Kgs 25:11; 2 Chr 36:20; Ps 42:7; Isa 15:5; 16:11; 21:3; 22:4; Ezek 7:26).

Jeremiah uses these questions to show his distress about seeing the battle flag and hearing the sound of the horn for such a long time. He wishes that the battle would end soon. It can be stated as an exclamation. Alternate translation: “Oh, how I wish that the battle would end, and the flag would be lowered, and the sound of the army’s horn would stop”
