The point of this comparison is that just as stubble is quickly and completely burned up by fire, so will they be destroyed. If it would be helpful in your language, you could make this point explicitly. Alternate translation: [like stubble, they will be completely destroyed]

Yahweh is using the possessive form to describe the souls, or lives, that are characterized by belonging to the astrologers themselves. If a speaker of your language would not use the possessive form for this, you could express this idea in another way. Alternate translation: [the lives that belong to them]
