TSNTyndale Study Notes:

6:7 your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven: The prophet’s experience of forgiveness anticipated Israel’s national need for forgiveness and cleansing (43:25; 44:22; see study note on 39:6-7).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / parallelism

(Occurrence 0) your guilt has been taken away, and your sin atoned for

(Some words not found in UHB: and,touched on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in mouth,my and=he/it_said see/lo/see! touched this on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in lips,your and,taken_away guilt,your and,sin,your atoned_for )

These two phrases say basically the same thing. If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “Yahweh has taken away your guilt and has forgiven your sins” (See also: figs-activepassive)

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

(Occurrence 0) your guilt has been taken away

(Some words not found in UHB: and,touched on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in mouth,my and=he/it_said see/lo/see! touched this on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in lips,your and,taken_away guilt,your and,sin,your atoned_for )

Yahweh no longer considering a person to be guilty is spoken of as if “guilt” were an object that someone could take away from someone else.
