For some languages it is more natural to put this clause first in this verse and say, “But Jacob was concerned that harm might come to Joseph’s younger brother Benjamin, so he did not send him with the rest of his brothers to Egypt.” Do what is best in your language. Alternate translation: “because Jacob thought that he might be harmed.” or “because he was concerned that something terrible might happen to him.”
