BrLXXτοῦτο τὸ ἔθνος ὃ οὐκ ἤκουσε τῆς φωνῆς Κυρίου, οὐδὲ ἐδέξατο παιδείαν, ἐξέλιπεν ἡ πίστις ἐκ στόματος αὐτῶν.
(touto to ethnos ho ouk aʸkouse taʸs fōnaʸs Kuriou, oude edexato paideian, exelipen haʸ pistis ek stomatos autōn. )

BrTrThis is the nation which has not hearkened to the voice of the Lord, nor received correction: truth has failed from their mouth.

ULTAnd you will say to them: This is the nation that does not listen to the voice of Yahweh its God and does not receive discipline. Honesty is lost and cut off from their mouth.

USTSay to them, ‘You people of Judah have not obeyed Yahweh, your God; you have not accepted it when he tried to correct you. No one among you is truthful; you do not say anything that is true; you speak only lies.’

BSBTherefore you must say to them, ‘This is the nation that would not listen to the voice of the LORD their God and would not receive correction. Truth has perished; it has disappeared from their lips.

OEBthy message is to be this:
⇔ This is the folk that refused to listen
⇔ To the voice of Jehovah their God–
⇔ That refused to accept correction.
 ⇔ Sincerity is vanished,
⇔ It is found on their lips no more.

WEBBEYou shall tell them, ‘This is the nation that has not listened to the LORD their God’s voice, nor received instruction. Truth has perished, and is cut off from their mouth.’

WMBB (Same as above)

NETSo tell them: ‘This is a nation that has not obeyed the Lord their God and has not accepted correction. Faithfulness is nowhere to be found in it. These people do not even profess it anymore.

LSVAnd you have said to them: This [is] the nation that has not listened,
To the voice of its God YHWH,
Nor have they accepted instruction,
Steadfastness has perished,
Indeed, it has been cut off from their mouth.

FBVSo you have to tell them, “This is the nation that refused to listen to what the Lord their God said, and would not accept the Lord's discipline. Truth has died out; people don't even talk about it.

T4TSay to them, ‘You people of Judah have not obeyed Yahweh, your God;
⇔ you have not accepted it when he tried to correct you.
 ⇔ No one among you is truthful;
⇔ you do not say anything that is true; you speak only lies.’

LEB“And you shall say to them, ‘This is the nation that has not obeyed the voice of Yahweh their God, and they have not accepted discipline. The truth has perished, and it is cut off from their mouths.[fn]

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

7:27-29 The Lord instructed Jeremiah to continue to proclaim his messages even though the people of Judah had totally rejected the Lord and would not listen (cp. Ezek 2:7). The appropriate action for Jeremiah to take was to shave his head, mourn, and weep alone on the mountains (cp. Job 1:20).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) the voice of Yahweh its God

(Some words not found in UHB: and,say to,them this the,nation which/who not obey in/on/at/with,voice YHWH his/its=god and=not accept discipline perished the,truth and,cut_off from,lips,their )

Here “the voice of Yahweh” represents what Yahweh has said. See how you translated this in Jeremiah 3:25. Alternate translation: “what Yahweh its God has said”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

(Occurrence 0) Truth is destroyed and cut off from their mouths

(Some words not found in UHB: and,say to,them this the,nation which/who not obey in/on/at/with,voice YHWH his/its=god and=not accept discipline perished the,truth and,cut_off from,lips,their )

Yahweh speaks of truth as if it was something the people could destroy and stop saying. If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “The people destroy truth and cut it off from their mouths” or “The people tell only lies” (See also: figs-idiom)

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

(Occurrence 0) Truth is destroyed

(Some words not found in UHB: and,say to,them this the,nation which/who not obey in/on/at/with,voice YHWH his/its=god and=not accept discipline perished the,truth and,cut_off from,lips,their )

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea behind the word truth, you can express the same idea with an adjective such as “truthful.” Alternate translation: “What is truthful is destroyed”
