TSNTyndale Study Notes:

22:14 you will never be forgiven for this sin: The people of Judah added sin upon sin to the point that God would justly condemn them. This foreshadowed the Exile; although it took place in 586 BC, Isaiah was already anticipating it in 701 BC.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / synecdoche

(Occurrence 0) This was revealed in my ears by Yahweh of hosts

(Some words not found in UHB: and,revealed in/on/at/with,ears,my YHWH armies/angels if forgiven the,iniquity the=this to/for=you_all until you(pl)_will_die=(emph) he/it_had_said my=master GOD armies/angels )

Here “ears” represents Isaiah as a whole. If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “Yahweh of hosts revealed this to me” (See also: figs-activepassive)

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

(Occurrence 0) Surely this iniquity will not be forgiven you, even when you die

(Some words not found in UHB: and,revealed in/on/at/with,ears,my YHWH armies/angels if forgiven the,iniquity the=this to/for=you_all until you(pl)_will_die=(emph) he/it_had_said my=master GOD armies/angels )

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “Surely I will not forgive you for these sinful things you have done, even when you die”

(Occurrence 0) even when you die

(Some words not found in UHB: and,revealed in/on/at/with,ears,my YHWH armies/angels if forgiven the,iniquity the=this to/for=you_all until you(pl)_will_die=(emph) he/it_had_said my=master GOD armies/angels )

This could mean: (1) Yahweh will never forgive them, even after they die or (2) Yahweh will not forgive them until they die.
