ULT And I shall place the key to the house of David on his shoulder, and he will open, and none will shut, and he will shut, and none will open,
UST I will give to him authority over what happens in the palace where King David lived; when he decides something, no one will be able to oppose it; when he refuses to do something, no one will be able to force him to do it.

22:22 The key to the house of David represents a high position of honor in the royal court (see also Rev 3:7).

Here “key” represents authority. This speaks of Eliakim having authority that no one can oppose as if he had the key to the palace and no one else could lock or unlock the door. Alternate translation: “I will put him in charge of those who work in the king’s palace, and when he makes a decision no one will be able to oppose him” (See also: figs-metaphor)
