UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion

(Occurrence 0) Who among you has announced these things?

(Some words not found in UHB: assemble all_of,you_all and,listen who? in/among=them he/it_told DOM these YHWH loves,him he/it_made/did purpose_of,his in/on/at/with,Babylon and,arm_of,his \add >ones\add*_from_Kasdiy )

Yahweh uses a question to emphasize that the idols have not told them these things. Alternate translation: “None of your idols has told this to you.”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / parallelism

(Occurrence 0) Yahweh’s ally will accomplish his purpose against Babylon. He will carry out Yahweh’s will against the Chaldeans

Here “ally” refers to Cyrus. Both of these sentences mean the same thing and are used for emphasis.

(Occurrence 0) his purpose

(Some words not found in UHB: assemble all_of,you_all and,listen who? in/among=them he/it_told DOM these YHWH loves,him he/it_made/did purpose_of,his in/on/at/with,Babylon and,arm_of,his \add >ones\add*_from_Kasdiy )

Alternate translation: “Yahweh’s purpose”
