UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

(Occurrence 0) Yahweh will rise up

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when as,mount Perazim rise_up YHWH as,valley in/on/at/with,Gibeon rage for=doing deed,his strange deed,his and,to,work work,his alien work,his )

Yahweh preparing to act is spoken of as if he were sitting and then rising up.

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

(Occurrence 0) Mount Perazim … Valley of Gibeon

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when as,mount Perazim rise_up YHWH as,valley in/on/at/with,Gibeon rage for=doing deed,his strange deed,his and,to,work work,his alien work,his )

These refer to places where God miraculously defeated enemy armies. (See also: translate-names)

(Occurrence 0) he will rouse himself

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when as,mount Perazim rise_up YHWH as,valley in/on/at/with,Gibeon rage for=doing deed,his strange deed,his and,to,work work,his alien work,his )

Alternate translation: “he will become very angry”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / doublet

(Occurrence 0) his strange work … his strange deed

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when as,mount Perazim rise_up YHWH as,valley in/on/at/with,Gibeon rage for=doing deed,his strange deed,his and,to,work work,his alien work,his )

These two phrases mean the same thing. This work is strange because God is using a foreign army to defeat the people of Jerusalem rather than helping the people of Jerusalem defeat their enemies.
