UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / apostrophe

הֵילִ֤ילִֽי שַׁ֨עַר֙ זַֽעֲקִי־עִ֔יר

wail gate cry (a)_city

Isaiah is speaking to the gate and the city as if they were people who could hear him. He is addressing inanimate objects to express the urgency of the coming destruction. If a speaker of your language would not do this, you could express this as a statement about the people in the city. Alternate translation: [Let the people at the gate wail and the people in the city cry out]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

נָמ֖וֹג

melt_away

The expression Be dissolved is a passive verbal form. If it would be unnatural to use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. If you need to say who causes the action, the context indicates that it is the fear caused by the approaching enemy. Alternate translation: [Tremble in fear]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

מִצָּפוֹן֙ עָשָׁ֣ן בָּ֔א

from_[the],north smoke he/it_came

Isaiah is speaking as if the approaching army were smoke coming from the north. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [from the north an army is coming]

Note 4 topic: writing-pronouns

וְאֵ֥ין בּוֹדֵ֖ד בְּמוֹעָדָֽיו

and,there_[is]_not straggler among,ranks_of,its

The pronoun his refers to the commander of the approaching army from the north. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers. Alternate translation: [and none in the army’s assembly is being separate]
