By using May, the psalmist is expressing what he desires or prays will happen. See the discussion in the introduction to Psalms about “let” and “may” and follow the decision of your team of how a speaker will express in this context what he wants someone to do. Alternate translation: [I desire that he will not give your foot to the slipping; that your keeper will not slumber]

The psalmist is speaking of experiencing danger or hardship as if it were a person’s foot slipping and causing him to fall. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [you over to danger]
