The expression Blessed be is a passive verbal form. The psalmist is expressing his desire to praise Yahweh. If it would be unnatural to use that form for this purpose, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [I bless Yahweh] or [Let me praise Yahweh]

David is speaking of Yahweh as if he were a high rock that David could climb up to reach safety from danger. If this image communicates well in your language, please use it. If not, you could express this as a comparison. Alternate translation: [my protector]
