The psalmist is not using the phrase my God to mean that he possesses or controls Yahweh, but rather to emphasize that Yahweh is the God the one he worships. See the introduction to Psalms for further discussion. Alternate translation: [the God whom I worship]

בְּ⁠ךָ֣ חָסִ֑יתִי

Here the psalmist is speaking of going to Yahweh for protection as taking refuge in him, as if Yahweh were something strong or safe he could hide inside of. Alternate translation: [I always go to you for protection]
