The word the ULT translates as There could refer to: (1) a place. Alternate translation: [At the place God will judge the wicked] or (2) a time. Alternate translation: [At the time God will judge the wicked]

The psalmist is using a construction in which a verb and its object come from the same root. You may be able to use the same construction in your language to express the meaning here. Alternatively, your language may have another way of saying this. Alternate translation: [they feared greatly]

בְּ⁠ד֣וֹר צַדִּֽיק

By the generation of the righteous, the psalmist means “the people who are righteous.” You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [is with righteous people]

The psalmist is using is with as a common expression of his culture to mean “helps.” If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [God helps righteous people]

The psalmist is using the adjective righteous as a noun to mean a certain kind of person. Your language may use adjectives in the same way. If not, you can translate this adjective with an equivalent phrase. Alternate translation: [righteous people]
