uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result

אֲנִ֥י שָׁכַ֗בְתִּי וָֽאִ֫ישָׁ֥נָה הֱקִיצ֑וֹתִי כִּ֖י יְהוָ֣ה יִסְמְכֵֽנִי

(Some words not found in UHB: my=sound/voice to/towards YHWH cry and,he,answered_me from=hill his_holiness_of,his selah )

The phrase laid myself down and slept is not a one-time occurrence but a universal statement about his daily peace because of Yahweh. If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases since the second phrase, for Yahweh protects me, gives the reason for the result, I awoke as well as the reason for the author’s confidence that he can lie down and sleep. Alternate translation: [Because Yahweh protects me, I lie down, sleep, and awake]
