יְ֭הוָה לַ⁠מַּבּ֣וּל יָשָׁ֑ב וַ⁠יֵּ֥שֶׁב יְ֝הוָ֗ה מֶ֣לֶךְ לְ⁠עוֹלָֽם

Here both times the word sits is used, it represents “ruling” as king since at that time kings sat on a throne from which they ruled, made decisions, and gave commands. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language as in the UST.

David assumes that readers will know that sits means “rules as king.” You could say that explicitly if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [Yahweh sits enthroned … as]

The phrase the flood could refer to: (1) the water that is above the sky as in the UST, or (2) the great flood recorded in Genesis chapters 6–9 that God sent during the time of Noah. Alternate translation: [over the flood that covered the earth] or [over the Flood]
