David is using your hand was heavy upon me as a common expression of his culture to mean that God afflicted or disciplined him severely. If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly as in the UST.

The expression My vitality was changed is a passive verbal form. If your language would not use that form, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. If you need to say who does the action, the context indicates that it is God. Alternate translation: [God drained my strength] or [My strength dried up]
