David is using the term glory to represent his soul. People of this culture spoke of the soul or inner being as the most noble or glorious part of a person. (The use of this term here is similar to its use in [16:9](../016/009.md), “my heart rejoices and my glory is glad,” and [30:12](../030/012.md), “my glory will make music to you.”) If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language.
