uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

Also to you, Lord, belongs covenant faithfulness

(Some words not found in UHB: one(fs) he/it_had_said ʼElohīm twice this heard that/for/because/then/when power belongs_to,God )

God being characterized by covenant faithfulness is spoken of as if covenant faithfulness belonged to him. If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea behind the word faithfulness, you could express the same idea with an adjective. Alternate translation: “You, Lord, are also faithful to your covenant” (See also: figs-abstractnouns)

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

for you pay back every person for what he has done

(Some words not found in UHB: one(fs) he/it_had_said ʼElohīm twice this heard that/for/because/then/when power belongs_to,God )

The writer speaks of God’s rewards as if he were paying a wage for work.

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

Ps 62 This psalm expresses confidence in the king and offers prayer for him. The king rests in God despite his difficulties. Although his deceptive and powerful adversaries push hard against him, he remains undaunted. He encourages himself and his people to trust in God and to see their human adversaries from God’s perspective, where they appear frail, fleeting, and deceptive (62:9).
