uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-words-phrases

כִּ֤י

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when I I_know that/for/because/then/when great YHWH and,lord(s)_of,our from=all ʼElohīm )

Here the word For introduces not a reason but an explanation. You may want to use a different connecting word to show how this statement relates to what comes before it. Alternate translation: [After all]

Note 2 topic: writing-pronouns

אֲנִ֣י יָ֭דַעְתִּי

I (Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when I I_know that/for/because/then/when great YHWH and,lord(s)_of,our from=all ʼElohīm )

The psalmist is stating the pronoun I separately, even though the verb translated as I know already includes this meaning. He is doing that to emphasize how confident he is in this knowledge. If a speaker of your language would use an explicit pronoun for the same purpose, you may want to use that construction in your translation. If not, your language may have other ways of showing the meaning here. Alternate translation: [I definitely know]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis

וַ֝אֲדֹנֵ֗ינוּ מִכָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים

and,lord(s)_of,our (Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when I I_know that/for/because/then/when great YHWH and,lord(s)_of,our from=all ʼElohīm )

The psalmist is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [and our Lord is greater than all gods]

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

מִכָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים

(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when I I_know that/for/because/then/when great YHWH and,lord(s)_of,our from=all ʼElohīm )

The term “god,” when applied to a being other than Yahweh, can refer to an idol, but, as here, it can also refer to any lesser spirit being. Alternate translation: [than any other spiritual being]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
