OET (OET-LV)I_will_say to/for_YHWH refuge_of_my and_fortress_of_my god_of_my [whom]_I_trust in/on/over_him/it.

OET (OET-RV)I will tell people that Yahweh is my safe place and my fortress,
⇔ my God that I’ll put my trust in.

uW Translation Notes:

I will say of Yahweh

(Some words not found in UHB: say to/for=YHWH refuge_of,my and,fortress_of,my God_of,my trust in/on/over=him/it )

Alternate translation: “I will say about Yahweh”

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

my refuge and my fortress

(Some words not found in UHB: say to/for=YHWH refuge_of,my and,fortress_of,my God_of,my trust in/on/over=him/it )

A “refuge” is any place a person can go and have someone or something protect him. A “fortress” is something that people make so they can protect themselves and their property. Asaph uses them here as metaphors for protection. Alternate translation: “the one to whom I can go and he will protect me”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

Ps 91 This wisdom psalm expresses confidence in the Almighty God, who provides a shelter for those who take refuge in him. They receive redemption, life, and glory from the Lord, who loves and cares for those who seek him.
