These two phrases Even darkness does not make it dark to you and the night shines like the day mean basically the same thing. See how your translation team has decided to represent pairs of phrases in Hebrew poetry that mean basically the same thing. Alternate translation: [Not even the deepest darkness can hide anything from you, because you see just as clearly at night as during the day]

The point of this comparison is that just as the day is fully bright and visible, so the night is equally bright and visible to Yahweh. If it would be helpful in your language, you could make this point explicitly. Alternate translation: [the night is as bright to you as the day]

David is referring to all conditions of visibility by naming two extremes, darkness and light. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [whether it is dark or light, it is the same to you]
