The psalmist is using one action that a warrior would do in preparation for fighting a battle, strapping his sword onto his thigh, to refer to being equipped for battle in general. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Prepare yourself to do battle]

While the expression Gird is an imperative, the psalmist is not telling the king to do something or suggesting that he is not already doing it. Instead, the psalmist is celebrating what the king is already doing. It may be more natural in your language to express this meaning by using a form other than an imperative. Alternate translation: [You are always prepared to do battle]

As the next verse indicates, the psalmist wants the king to use his power specifically to uphold justice. This may not necessarily involve fighting an actual battle. Alternate translation: [Be prepared to use your power to uphold justice] or [You are always prepared to use your power to uphold justice]

Together the terms glory and majesty express a single idea. The word majesty characterizes this man as a king, and the word glory tells what kind of king he is, specifically when he fights for justice. If it would be more natural in your language, you could express this meaning in a different way. Alternate translation: [as a glorious king]
