The word Precious here does not imply that Yahweh desires the death of his faithful ones, but that the death of his saints is costly to him and grieves him. See how you translated a similar expression in [Psalm 72:14](../072/014.md). Alternate translation: [Yahweh considers the death of his faithful ones to be a costly thing]

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of death, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [When one of his faithful people dies, that grieves Yahweh very much]

The psalmist is using in the eyes of as a common expression of the culture to mean “in the judgment of” or “in the opinion of.” If this phrase does not have that meaning for your readers, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [in Yahweh’s judgment]
