The psalmist is using the phrase the burning of his nose as a common expression of the culture to mean that God is angry. If this phrase does not have that meaning for your readers, use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [among them his fierce anger] or [among them his burning anger]
