The phrases Fire consumed his young men and his virgins were not praised mean opposite things but work together to show the devastating completeness of the judgment. For emphasis, the psalmist is describing both the death of young men and the corresponding lack of marriage celebrations. If a speaker of your language would not use this kind of contrast, in your translation you can convey the emphasis in a different way. Alternate translation: [Fire consumed his young men so that his virgins had no weddings]

The psalmist speaks of Fire as if it were a person that could actively consume people. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [His young men died in fires] or [His young men were burned to death]
