OET (OET-LV)In/on/at/with_arrogance_of the_wicked he_hotly_pursues the_afflicted they_are_caught in/on/at/with_schemes which they_have_planned.

OET (OET-RV)Wicked people just arrogantly bully the poor and needy.
⇔ May they be caught up by the very schemes that they planned for others.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

בְּגַאֲוַ֣ת

in/on/at/with,arrogance_of

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of arrogance, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “Arrogantly”

Note 2 topic: writing-pronouns

יִתָּפְשׂ֓וּ ׀ בִּמְזִמּ֖וֹת ז֣וּ חָשָֽׁבוּ

caught in/on/at/with,schemes that devised

It is not clear who they are. Options include 1) that they is the wicked in both cases. In that case this would either be a prediction or wish. This would fit with what is said in [9:15–16](../09/15.md). Alternate translation: “the wicked are caught by the schemes that they themselves have planned” or “may the wicked be caught by the schemes that they themselves have planned” 2) the first they is the oppressed and the second is the wicked. This would fit with the very negative outlook of 10:1–11. Alternate translation: “the oppressed are caught by the schemes that the wicked have planned” You may wish to follow the choice that translations you are familiar with have made.

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

יִתָּפְשׂ֓וּ ׀ בִּמְזִמּ֖וֹת ז֣וּ חָשָֽׁבוּ

caught in/on/at/with,schemes that devised

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of schemes, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “they are caught in the traps they have planned” or “they are caught in their own scheming”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

10:2 The wicked brazenly defy God with their acts and speech (17:10; 31:18; 59:12; 73:8; 123:4). Although the Lord will deal with them (31:23), they disturb the righteous (see 5:4-6) prior to their condemnation and judgment.
