1 Since many attempted to _draw _up a_description concerning the matters having _been _fully _assured among us, 2 as the ones from the_beginning, having _become eyewitnesses and attendants of _the message, gave_ them _over to _us, 3 it _supposed to _also _me having _followed originally with _all things exactly, to _write to _you consecutively, most _excellent Theofilos, 4 in _order _that you _may _know the certainty concerning which of_the_messages you _were _instructed.
5 It _became in the days of _Haʸrōdaʸs king of_ the _Youdaia, a_ certain _priest by_the_name Zaⱪarias of division of _Abia/(ʼAⱱīāh), and wife to _him of the daughters of_Aʼarōn/(ʼAhₐron), and the name of _her, Elisabet.
6 And they _were both righteous before the god, blameless in pursuing all the commands and just _acts of _the master.
7 And was to _them no child, as _much _as the Elisabet was barren, and both were having _advanced in the days of _them.
8 And it _became in the time him to _be _ministering, before the god in the order of _the division of _him, 9 according _to the custom of _the priestly _office, he _was _chosen _by _lot which to _burn _incense, having _come _in into the temple of _the master.
10 And all the multitude of _the people was praying outside at _the hour of _the incense.
11 And an_messenger of_the_master was _seen to _him, having _stood on the_right of _the altar of _the incense.
12 And Zaⱪarias was _disturbed having _seen him, and fear fell _on on him.
13 But the messenger said to him:
Be_ not _fearing, Zaⱪarias, because the petition of _you was _listened _to, and Elisabet the wife of _you will _be _bearing a_son to _you, and you _will _be _calling the name of _him Yōannaʸs.
14 And will _be joy and exultation to _you, and many will _be _being _elated at the birth of _him.
15 For/Because he _will _be great before the master, and by _no _means he _may_ not _drink wine and liquor, and he _will _be _being _filled of_the_ holy _spirit still from the_womb of_the_mother of _him.
16 And he _will _be _turning _back many of _the sons of _Israaʸl/(Yisrā^ʼēl) to the_master, the god of _them.
17 And he will _be _going _ahead before him in the_spirit and power with _Aʸlias/(ʼĒliy^yāh), to _turn _back the_hearts of_the_fathers to the_children, and the_unpersuadable in the_understanding of_the_righteous, to _prepare for_the_master a_people having _been _prepared.
18 And Zaⱪarias said to the messenger:
By what will _I _be _knowing this?
For/Because I am an_older _man, and the wife of _me having _advanced in the days of _her.
19 And answering the messenger said to _him:
I am Gabriaʸl/(Gaⱱrī^ʼēl), the one having _stood _by before the god, and I _was _sent _out to _speak to you, and to _good _message _preach these things to _you.
20 And see, you _will _be keeping _silent and not being _able to _speak, until that day these things may _become, because/for that you_ not _believed in _the messages of _me, which will _be _being _fulfilled in the season of _them.
21 And the people was expecting the Zaⱪarias, and they _were _marvelling at the time to _be _delaying him in the temple.
22 But having _come _out he _was_ not _able to _speak to _them, and they _recognized that he _has _seen a_vision in the temple.
And he was nodding to _them, and was _continuing mute.
23 And it _became when the days of _the ministry of _him were _fulfilled, he _went _away to the home of _him.
24 And after these the days Elisabet the wife of _him conceived, and was _secluding herself five months saying, 25 that Thus the_master has _done to _me, in the_days in _which he _looked _upon, to _take _away the_disgrace of _me among people.
26 And in the the sixth month, the messenger Gabriaʸl was _sent _out by the god to a_city the of _Galilaia/(Gālīl), to _whose name was Nazaret, 27 to a_virgin having _been _betrothed to_a_man, whose name was Yōsaʸf/(Yōşēf), of the_house of _Dawid/(Dāvid), and the name of _the virgin was Maria/(Miryām).
28 And having _come _in the messenger to her, said:
Greetings, having _been _favoured.
The master is with you.
29 And she was _thoroughly _perplexed at the statement, and was _reasoning what _kind _of the greeting this might _be.
30 And the messenger said to _her:
Be_ not _fearing, Maria, because/for you _found favour with the god.
31 And see, you _will _be _conceiving in your _womb, and you _will _be _bearing a_son, and you _will _be _calling the name of _him Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa).
32 This one will _be great, and will _be _being _called the_son of_the_highest, and the_master the god will _be _giving to _him the throne of _Dawid, the father of _him, 33 and he _will _be _reigning over the house of_Yakōb/(Yaˊₐqoⱱ), to the ages, and of _the kingdom of _him, will_ not _be an_end.
34 And said Maria to the messenger:
How will_ this _be, because I _am_ not _knowing a_man?
35 And answering the messenger said to _her:
The_ holy _spirit will _be _coming _over on you, and the_power of_the_highest will _be _overshadowing on _you, therefore also the holy child being _born will _be _being _called, son of_god.
36 And see, Elisabet, the relative of _you, she also has _conceived a_son in the_old _age of _her, and this is sixth month to _her who was being _called barren.
37 Because every message will_ not _be _unattaining with the god.
38 And Maria/(Miryām) said:
Behold, the handmaiden of_the_master, might _it _become to _me according _to the message of _you.
And the messenger went _away from her.
39 And Maria having _risen _up in the these days, was _gone into the mountainous with earnestness, to a_city of _Youda/(Yəhūdāh), 40 and she _came _in into the house of _Zaⱪarias, and greeted the Elisabet.
41 And it _became, as the Elisabet heard the greeting of_ the _Maria, the baby kicked in the womb of _her, and the Elisabet was _filled with_the_ holy _spirit, 42 and she _cried _out with_a_ loud _voice and said:
You having _been _blessed among women, and the fruit of _the womb of _you having _been _blessed.
43 And from _where this to _me, that the mother of _the master of _me may _come to me?
44 For/Because see, as the voice of _the greeting of _you became into the ears of _me, the baby in the womb of _me kicked in.

45 And blessed is the woman having _believed that there _will _be a_completion to _the things having _been _spoken to _her from the_master.
46 And Maria said:
The soul of _me is _magnifying the master, 47 and the spirit of _me exulted in the god, the saviour of _me.
48 Because he _looked _at on the humiliation of _the handmaiden of _him.
For/Because see, from the time now all the generations will _be _counting_ me _blessed.
49 Because the powerful one did great things to _me, and the name of _him is holy.
50 And the mercy of _him is to generations and generations, to _the ones revering him.
51 He _did power with the_arm of _him, the_proud in_the_mind of _heart of _them he _scattered.
52 He _took _down sovereigns from thrones, and exalted the_humble.
53 He _filled hungering ones with _good things, and he _sent _away being _rich ones empty-handed.
54 He _took _care of _Israaʸl/(Yisrā^ʼēl) servant of _him, to _be _reminded of _mercy, 55 as he _spoke to the fathers of _us, to_ the _Abraʼam/(ʼAⱱrāhām) and to _the descendants of _him, because/for the age.
56 And Maria/(Miryām) remained with her about three months, and returned to the home of _her.
57 And the to _Elisabet was _fulfilled the time, which her to _bear, and she _bore a_son.
58 And the neighbors and the relatives of _her heard that the_master magnified the mercy of _him with her, and they _were _rejoicing _with with _her.
59 And it _became on the the eighth day, they _came to _circumcise the little _child, and they _were _calling it Zaⱪarias after the name of _the father of _him.
60 And having _been _answering the mother of _him said:
No, but he _will _be _being _called Yōannaʸs.
61 And they _said to her, that No _one is of the relatives of _you, who is _being _called the by_ this _name.
62 And they _were _signaling to _the father of _him, what the name wishfully he _might _be _wanting him to _be _being _called.
63 And having _requested a_tablet, he _wrote saying:
Yōannaʸs is the_name of _him.
And all marvelled.
64 And the mouth of _him was _opened _up immediately, and the tongue of _him, and he _was _speaking blessing the god.
65 And fear became on all, the ones dwelling _around them, and in all the mountainous area of_ the _Youdaia all the these messages.

76 And you also, little _child, will _be _being _called the_prophet of_the_highest:
for you _will _be _going _before before the_master to _prepare the_ways of _him, 77 which to _give knowledge of _salvation to _the people of _him, in forgiveness of _sins of _them, 78 because _of the_compassions of_the_mercy of_god of _us, in which the_rising from height will _be _visiting us, 79 to _shine _upon upon _the ones in darkness and sitting in_the_shadow of _death, which to _direct the feet of _us into the_way of _peace.
80 And the little _child was _growing and was _being _strengthened in _spirit, and was in the wildernesss until the_day of _appearance of _him to the Israaʸl/(Yisrā^ʼēl).
